The Roblin District Community Foundation held its annual grants night on October 26, 2017 handing out more than $32,000 to local groups and organizations. Members of the board and representatives of the successful grant applicants gathered at the Life & Art Centre for the foundation’s 12th annual grants night and AGM. “Thank you for helping us celebrate the community we live in, and the continued drive to make it better,” said board member and MC for the evening, Walter Hammond.

Since 2005 the foundation has returned over $400,000 back to the community!!

Receiving grants (in order of presentation) this year were:
Roblin District Health Centre - $3,784 to replace the original bedside tables in hospital rooms to improve care;

Crocus Court PCH - $14,155.86 for two new medication carts;

Keystone Pioneers Museum - $4,276.55 to cement the floor in an existing display building;

Roblin Childrens’ Centre - $1,264.45 for a new computer;

Roblin Recycling Depot - $3,000 for an extension on the addition to provide cover for Ewaste and regular recyclables;

Roblin 50 & Over Club - $2,500 to remove and replace all existing light fixtures to a more environmentally-friendly system;

Roblin Skating Club - $1,250 for costumes;

Goose Lake High - $1,000 for five new microphones; and

Roblin District Health Care Auxiliary - $1,000 for an electrocautery unit for Nurse practitioners.

The only real business of the AGM was approving Sensus as the foundation’s auditors for 2017. In conclusion, Hammond said the year was another “rousing success” for the foundation, a success dependent on everyone’s support. “Thank you again,” he said.
