The Help Centre is governed by a community board composed of members from the Town of Roblin, RM of Hillsburg and RM of Shell River.
Our key services are:
Lifeline: Help is just a button push away. One press of a button worn around the neck puts seniors in touch with help instantly. The cost is a mere $1.00 a day. Installation and servicing is all provided locally through the Community Centre.
Congregate Meal Programs: The Community Help Centre sponsors the congregate meal programs at Roblin Residence and Maple Manor. Seniors are provided with a hot nutritious meal in a family-like setting.
Handivan: The Community Help Centre works with the Town Office by co-ordinating the volunteer drivers for the Handivan. Because of the dedication of the volunteer drivers, seniors’ transportation in Roblin is very affordable at just $2.00 per trip. Out-of-town transportation is provided at $0.35 per kilometre.
Meals on Wheels: The Community Help Centre co-ordinates 14 community groups to delivery meals to individual’s home three times per week.
Filling Out Forms: The Help Centre fills out many forms for seniors including OAS, CPP and GIS forms; replacement birth certificates and social insurance cards.
Information and Referral: The Help Centre is a one-stop information service for seniors and their families. We can connect people with Home Care programs, or with support groups such as those for Alzheimers, Parkinsons and cancer. We also provide assistance with admission to personal care homes or with renting an apartment.
